What inspired Collette's business?

Collette founded Collettey’s Cookie Corp after facing repeated employment rejections due to her Down syndrome. Her love for baking inspired her to start selling cookies at a local market in 2016, with a goal to live independently and support herself. Driven by her passion for creating opportunities, Collette aims to empower others with disabilities, demonstrating resilience and the determination to succeed in business.

Collettey’s Cookie Corp has sold over 700,000 cookies since its founding in 2016 and ships across the U.S. and Canada. Collette Divitto scaled the business to mass production and dedicates 5% of profits to her nonprofit, Collettey’s Leadership Org, which offers workshops for people with disabilities on independence, leadership, and entrepreneurship. Collette’s inspiring journey has been featured in Forbes and People Magazine, GMA, CNN, Chronicle, Huffington Post, ABC and CBS World News, Pop Sugar and more! She has also published two books sharing her life experiences and will speak in Washington on World Down Syndrome Day to advocate for employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
