Being a part of CWE has enabled me to grow my business and make some amazing business connections.”
Syroya Eugene
What inspired Syroya's Business?
Syroya's Bakery was inspired from a hobby that dates back to 2012. She loved to share her passion for baking with friends, as a way to show them how much she loved them. As word of mouth on her delicious creations grew, she was able to turn her hobby into a business by 2016 and opened her first location in 2020.
Business Highlight
Syroya's bakery is a novelty dessert shop specializing in cakes, cupcakes, pies, cheesecakes, and more. Her business has grown quickly due to the overwhelming support from her community.
Within a year of opening her first location, she outgrew the space and was able to relocate to a new location in North Providence. She is the first Black owned bakery located in North Providence. In a short time, she has built relationships with new patrons and takes pride in putting a smile on their faces.
Syroya also offers mid to high-end luxury cakes for weddings, anniversaries, and corporate events. No event is off-limits.
For 2023, she will be adding to their team and expanding to offer baking supplies, coffee, and tea stations, additional bread and pastry items as well as ready-to-go cakes available for walk-in service. Additionally, her success has enabled her to give back to her community by donating services to many charitable organizations and nonprofits.
As a small business, she enjoys taking part in community events. She donates her services to local charity organizations and nonprofits and will continue to do so. She has also participated in youth job programs with CCAP and is currently working with ReFocus (an adult assisted living program) and helping their clients with work experience as employees in her bakery.
Syroya's Bakery is a family-operated business. Occasionally you will be greeted by her lovely mom Donna, her children Ashaad, Milquan, or Prestyn, or her uncle Stephen (Terry) who everyone loves.
