Casey O’Brien serves as Deputy General Counsel at Charlesbank Capital Partners, a private equity investment firm, where she supports the legal and compliance team and collaborates across the firm in strategic initiatives, fund formation, deal structuring and governance matters.  Casey previously served as a partner in the Investment Funds Group at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where she represented sponsors in the formation, structuring and management of private investment funds.  She is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and Georgetown University Law Center.

In pursuing a career in a field where women have historically been underrepresented in senior roles, I have benefited from the mentorship and encouragement of women who have invested in my development and provided inspiration for me along the way.  Those experiences have shaped my commitment to seek out opportunities to mentor, sponsor, and advocate for other women, and to foster environments where women are valued contributors.  Outside of my own career, my partner’s experience launching his own company has given me a clear view of the challenges inherent in building and maintaining a viable business.  I find incredibly inspiring the resources, tools and support that CWE provides and I am proud to be a part of the organization.
