What inspired Erica’s business?
Erica was inspired to create the Family Tree School Age Enrichment Program to provide children a safe and nurturing environment. Growing up in a low-income, biracial family, she recognized the lack of availability of childcare and sought to create a space that celebrated community. Despite starting her business during the 2008 recession, Erica's determination to challenge the odds and her passion for uplifting families led her to build an impactful childcare center that feels like home for every child.

Erica’s Family Tree School Age Enrichment Program has achieved remarkable milestones, including becoming Rhode Island's first NAA-accredited 5-star afterschool program. The business has provided award-winning childcare services for over twenty years, earning two SBA awards for excellence.
