Award Winners Announced at 2017 CWE Women Business Leaders Conference

Boston, MA – The Center for Women & Enterprise (CWE), a nationally-known nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women in business presented its 2017 Leadership Awards at its Annual Women Business Leaders Conference on October 20 at the Sheraton Framingham, MA.
The following individuals and corporations were recognized for their outstanding efforts in helping break down barriers and provide opportunities for women entrepreneurs and women in business to increase their professional success, personal growth, and financial independence.
CWE Corporation of the Year is given to the corporation leading the way to opening up pathways for women-owned businesses. 2017 Winner – Textron Inc.
CWE Community Partner of the Year is given to the organization that supports the growth and expansion of the Center for Women & Enterprise. 2017 Winner – Commonwealth of Massachusetts Supplier Diversity Office
CWE Advocate of the Year is given to a professional or community leader whose efforts support women’s economic empowerment through small business initiatives. 2017 Winner – Susan Loconto Penta
CWE Volunteer of the Year is given to an individual who tirelessly and selflessly supports CWE and its mission. 2017 Winner – Daniel Homander
CWE Supplier Diversity Professional of the Year is given to a supplier diversity professional exhibiting outstanding efforts in supplier diversity. 2017 Winner – The TJX Companies, Inc.
CWE WBENC-Certified Women’s Business of the Year is given to a WBENC-certified women-owned business that has exhibited growth through innovation or strategic partnership. 2017 Winner – Polaris Direct LLC

This year’s conference drew a 300 business professionals dedicated to empowering women in business, and featured workshops and presentations led by industry experts. Featured speakers included Gillian Meek, President of Keds, and Stefania Mallett, Co-Founder and CEO, ezCater.
