Laura DiBenedetto had a flair for art but needed a way to translate her talents into a marketable business. Laura launched Fresh Design in July 2001 and came to the Center for Women & Enterprise – Central Massachusetts one year later to help her business grow. Since embarking on this entrepreneurial endeavor with CWE, Laura’s household income has increased by 40% and she has doubled her personal savings.

Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, Laura always wanted to start her own business. After she was laid off from her position in the financial market, she decided to do just that. Laura put her artistic talents and training in marketing, business and graphic design to work and opened Fresh Design in July 2001. The staff at CWE – Central Massachusetts helped Laura develop the legal and accounting skills necessary to nurture her business and help it grow. Her company’s revenues have subsequently increased 40%. And, according to Laura, she has become a “happy, independent and self-sufficient woman.”
