CWE Announces New Citizens Bank Foundation Grant PDF Print E-mail

Center for Women & Enterprise Partners with Citizens Bank Foundation to increase access to entrepreneurial training in Boston BOSTON, MA –The Center for Women & Enterprise (CWE), a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational programming and training for women entrepreneurs, announced today that the Citizens Bank Foundation has provided a $10,000 grant to increase access to entrepreneurial training for women in the Greater Boston Area.

During a recession, entrepreneurial training is more important than ever to launch or expand a sustainable small business. CWE provides entrepreneurs with critical strategies to plan and manage lean, nimble businesses prepared to overcome the challenges of a down economy.

CWE’s programs help women from all socioeconomic backgrounds, providing training, technical assistance and access to networks. It is essential to start the journey toward entrepreneurship with a sound business plan. CWE provides intensive, hands on business planning training that walks participants through the process of creating a bank-ready business plan. Once the new business is operational, CWE is here to provide follow-up support through one-on-one business consulting with industry experts. To continue to strengthen young businesses, CWE provides topical workshops, such as Accounting for Non-accountants, E-Commerce, and Marketing on a Shoestring.

“We are so proud to have Citizens Bank Foundation as a partner to insure that the Center for Women and Enterprise can continue to provide high quality business planning and entrepreneurship training to women who want to achieve a dream. Their support enables us to empower many women and help with the economic recovery this country so desperately needs,” said Center for Women and Enterprise CEO Susan Rittscher.

Although CWE targets women seeking to start and grow their businesses, their programs and services are available to every gender and socioeconomic class. Sliding scale scholarships for low-income women are available by application.

CWE’s mission to empower women through entrepreneurship is strongly linked with the Citizens Bank Foundation’s goal to promote economic development in the Greater Boston Area.
