Why CWE?

Throughout history, roughly fifty percent of the world’s population has been underappreciated – the female half. I use the term “underappreciated” out of kindness, but it is more than that – in many it was wasted, suppressed, thwarted, etc. Women suffered as did the whole economy. For me, serving CWE is very personal. In the 1940’s, my grandmother was a “Rosie the Riveter” working to support the war and her family. When the war ended, she went back to being a homemaker. Her daughters, my mother and her sisters, worked in traditional low wage “female” jobs which stifled their opportunity and economic stability. It is from this history, that I know that economic empowerment and success is freedom. CWE is providing the foundation and support so that women can establish their economic freedom and I am very proud to be a part of it.
